It amazes me how thirsty I immediately get when I latch my little one to breastfeed. It’s like my baby’s crying thirst-quench gets instantaneously passed on to me? And all of a sudden I feel like I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name …. looking for lots of rain 😉 Jokes aside, does anyone know why is it we feel sooooo thirsty when breastfeeding? What triggers the dying need for water or liquid when we breastfeed? Is it triggered by hormones or the fact that breast milk is indeed 90% water and this needs to be replenish?
